Watercolour Alert ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧●

April 21, 2014

I fianlly, actually got inspired to paint again and this time by one of my own photographs too:

I did paint my favorite photograph (probably of all time) of my little Pigmy Nuthatch on Yupo paper:

September last year. But I really wanted to paint one of my birds on watercolor paper, there is a difference for sure.

I loved this image of a little Song Sparrow I took the other morning down on the rio   ‘Song Sparrow tangled in Pink’

The true painting will emerge when my studio guy does his magic and captures my painting in all it’s nuisances of color and hue.

This photo is from the first image after I started.  I forget to capture the different stages that I create, sorry……

you can really see the misket here, it’s the dull brownish lines.  I think this is one of the funnest parts of watercolour for me, is using misket.  Sometimes I really start to like what’s happening as I paint around it and with it, so when I take it off, I have to re-see the piece with fresh eyes.  But when I take it off it feels like Christmas to me.  I really, really love that part.

just need to set up my big camera so I can post this for sale

It has felt so good to paint again.  To have the time and the space and the freedom to take this time, to get back to my bliss.

too, too long

I’ve been neglecting my blog, my art, my exercise too.  I just cannot fit it all in.  How do people who work 30- to 40 or more hours every single week get anything done’?

I have been one busy Admin Girl, but it’s time to paint. If I can find my desk under the clutter before I lose interest again.  Wish me painting.

When Springtime Rolls Around

May 4, 2013

Tulips are seen everywhere you look.  Some even grow them in beautiful clay pots so they can move them around.

This piece is really incredible in person and computer monitors, altho handy, just can’t give you all the wonderful colors and feel this painting has in here.  The way the light plays on the flowers is just wonderful to look at.  I love the feel of this painting.

If you would like to gift this to someone for graduation or maybe Mothers Day, or simply just because, please click the  image and it will take you to my Etsy Shop.

Thank you for stopping by,

peace n abundance,

beyond the woods, with a fat little bunny, to the plum blossom tree

April 14, 2013

Busy week and productive one too.  I lOVE Spring.  I feel so motivated about my art and creating.  Also learning new things about the business end of it all.

This is actually the first week in a long, long time that I have posted two posts in one week.  I wrote about a returning robin enjoying our little ponds of water to take a much needed bath after their migration.

AND I’ve been painting: not really big paintings, but watercolor sketches of plum blossoms

and I went beyond the woods:

and found me a fat, little green bunny:  (just the first, well second layer) of Winsor Newton Paynes Grey with Sap Green…..

WMapr142013_2644e

bunny, bunny so fat and round…why do you look all green?

Just need to add some more detail and fix a few things and I might call her good.  We will see tomorrow.  I found this little sweetie in a new store in town, kinda like a Ross, with a little bit of everything thrown in.  Couldn’t resist her for 2 bucks.

I hope everyone’s weekend was fabulous,

peace n abundance,

CheyAnne
